So… ActsCalibre 2008 has come to an end. It’s always painful when things end. But I guess it doesn’t mean that we’ll not be in touch anymore. Certainly looking forward to Sentosa outing on this Saturday. Another day to get burnt. I’m burnt liao lo. I turned off the lights in my bedroom yesterday and realized I could only see my eyes and my 2 rows of teeth!
Had the best camp ever for the past 3 days. Wanted to blog yesterday but just couldn’t keep awake. =P was the heong-iest camp that I’ve attended so far in my life. I never felt this extent of exhaustion before. By the second day afternoon, my right hand simply didn’t want to listen to me anymore. We had a rather slack first day actually but the action started on the first night. After some performances by both the organizing comm and the different OGs (I think europe’s was the best. Heh heh.), we had the night treasure hunt. Omg la, it was totally difficult can. The pieces of clues that we were supposed to find to lead us to the next location was uber small and strewn at weird places like drains and even in the holes under seats. Plus it was pitch dark in some areas though there were street lights. The ‘best’ part was the running all over NTU! We really really ran. At least 3 km when you add everything up. Haha. Burns the fats manx. Came in 3rd eventually.
Didn’t really get to sleep on the first night. It’s always like that for me and on the next night I’ll be like KOed totally. Hostel’s super hot so I ended up lying across 2 chairs put together right under the fan. Haha. PT in the morning at 6. can you imagine. It always exhausts me when I’ve to run in the morn, drains all my energy. Especially when there isn’t food before the run. My stomach simply rejects all forms of food after exercise. So actually throughout the camp I didn’t really eat much. (yay! Burn my stored fats. Haha) had the Frisbee games in the morning after breakfast. Frisbee’s so my weakness. I totally can’t throw at all! But I can catch tho. Haha.
Cball and Bball finals later in the morning. Aw… how much I love Cball! It’s been so long since I played ‘competitive” cball! Why isn’t there a CCA for Cball? I admit that I was cheonging like siao both trying to be defender as well as being the Captain at the same time. The limits. Haha. But nonetheless, was great fun. Oh and the sun was perfect! Got second in the end, the first received adidas caps! How we stared in envy. Haha.
Boardgames finals in the second night. We won okays… intellectual frenchies. Haha. Thanks to weixiang and yongsheng! Heh. And we won the Taboo too! I grabbed the gold for the Boom Boom Cha game! Was super tai ko! My mind wasn’t really processing anything at 1130 pm on the second night already and can you imagine, I was the last one standing for the game. Heh. =) And so it was a night of golds for Team France! Haha.
Had alternative games in the next morning. Some weird chasing and poison ball game combi, stimultaneous handball and soccer, and a ‘something like relay’ game on the tracks. I could feel the sun burning up my legs. The sun was ultimate manx. The handball one was rather interesting actually. Heh. Intercontinental Cball and Bball after the alternative games. Lost but happy. Yesh, I was the captain. Haha. Couldn’t really move after that. Water games next! Calyn zhammed me in my chest with a water bomb! In front flat liao la. Haha. I shan’t elaborate on how Eunice chased Jon when he poured water over her head. Loooooong story. In conclusion, eunice’s jon’s nemesis. Haha.
Had prize giving at night on the 3rd day. Performance by the comm too. Here’s the sond they wrote for the camp and for us.
People come and people go
But friends will stay and watch you grow
When things go wrong, they will be our guide
When things are fine, they will share in our joy.
We may have different styles of hair
But friends are those who accept and care
Despite of our looks, despite of our likes
Friends make us a part of their lives.
Tomorrow may be a different day
But friends won’t go where the wind may blow
So look around and see their smiles
And remember that they love you.
When times are tough and tempers fly
Friends forgive and forget our lies
But don’t take for granted when they show us their kindness
‘cos they deserve much more than what’s priceless.
Tomorrow may be a different day
But friends won’t go where the streams may flow
So look around and see their smiles
And remember that they love you.
Now ACTScalibre camp has come to an end
It’s time to say goodbye
But some things never change
Our memories stay
And friendships still remain.
You’ve made me who I am today
I appreciate the words you’ve said
Sacrifice you’ve made
The time you gave
And to you my dear friend
I just wanna say thanks
I just wanna say thanks
Yups. That’s about it.
To Team France,
Thanks for the fun and laughter for the past 3 weeks, the events, the outings and best of all, the camp. We siao together, we fought together. We are France, the most united team ever. High without eating ecstasy, CID ah wa buay kia! Haha. To our new found friendship, KAMPAI!
To Europe,
Three cheers to being the most united continent! Will never forget our Europe cheer!
